Q: How does one qualify to receive a free computer?
A: Just by asking for one. There are no other criteria. As long as each PCs gets into the hands of someone who will use it, our mission is fulfilled.
Q: Is Vermont Free PC a registered non-profit organization ( i.e. 501(c)(3) ) ?
A: No. This type of incorporation requires a lot of overhead, including election of a board of directors, drafting of bylaws, and regular reporting. Vermont Free PC is a very informal operation, and is operated 100% cash-free. Though you may not be able to claim a tax deduction for your donations, they will go to a good cause nonetheless.
